How often do you eat fish? – A survey by Pulzus

Although fish consumption in Hungary has increased by more than 30% since 2013, one person’ average of 6.7 kilograms per year is still quite low.
Therefore, a nationwide campaign called Fish Friday was launched to encourage fish consumption at least once a week. In Hungary, fish consumption is seasonal in nature, most people buy fish before Easter and Christmas.

Hungarians justify their avoidance of fish by the high price of the product, fear of splinters, as well as the questionable quality of fish available.
In recent years, thanks to large supermarket chains, the availability of fish products has improved, more and more fish restaurants and buffets have been created.

In our survey within the Pulzus app, we asked how often our users eat fish?
42% of respondents eat fish very rarely and 23% only once a month.
