Do you listen to music before falling asleep? – A survey by Pulzus

Music doesn’t just keep the body young, but also the soul. In our fast-paced world, it’s important to slow down occasionally, and music can help us with that.

Nothing proves the connection between music and sleep better than lullabies. For centuries, mothers and nannies have lulled their children to sleep with soft melodies. Researchers have also confirmed that playing different types of tunes before going to bed affects the quality of sleep. According to the study, subjects’ restlessness and anxiety levels were significantly reduced when they were listening to slow, calming, relaxing, music.

Listening to music before going to sleep speeds up the process of falling asleep, reduces the number of nighttime awakenings, and thus, is good for your heart. Listening to music under adequate conditions leads to a decrease in physical alertness and eliminates all effects hinging on it, two of which are anxiety and depression. After numerous researches, it can also be stated that classical and new age music were most successfully used in the course of these studies. Therefore, it is recommended to listen to less dynamic, slow-paced music, because the rhythm of the music and the heart rhythm can synchronize after a while.
