The Prime Minister’s Office lead Minister, Gergely Gulyás, stated at the Government Information that he would consider it appropriate if the fall break in schools were skipped and the winter vacation was extended.
A rapid choice should be made regarding the length of educational breaks due to increased utility costs. This choice might be a way to help schools save energy in the short run. Due to the unprecedented scenario that has arisen, such an adjustment would be comprehensible; nonetheless, it would be preferable if it were announced already in September.
In our research, we asked our users whether, in their opinion, changing the school holidays would be a good solution from the government.
According to 32% of respondents, yes, this is a good solution, but 33% would not be affected by the change in school holidays at all.
