According to the WHO, otology is one of the most neglected areas of health in the world. Many people today have some sort of hearing problem. Early detection of hearing loss is vital, as most hearing injuries worsen over time, so it is essential to treat the issue as soon as possible. For example, childhood diseases that cause inflammation of the middle ear can also lead to hard of hearing. However, in many cases, hearing loss in adults can be brought on mainly by high-pitched noise workplaces, or it may develop due to the effects of some medications. In the early stages, hearing problems are usually well treated. The World Health Organization predicts that by 2050, a quarter of people will be struggling with some form of hearing loss. In the Pulzus app, we wondered if their hearing is important to our users and if they go for regular hearing tests. Unfortunately, 86% of respondents don`t have their ears checked regularly. Only 13% are those who take it seriously and often visit the otologist.
