Unusual hair care routines? – A survey by Pulzus

Throughout history hair care habits have always evolved.
Hair care itself dates back to antiquity. From 4,000 B.C. to 1,500 B.C. a wide variety of recipes and techniques for washing hair survived in Egypt. For cleansing, warm water and the juice of various citrus fruits were most often used, which effectively cleaned the hair from oils.

There is also a deep-rooted tradition of hair care in India, which is proved by the fact that the word “shampoo” is of Indian origin. In India, the essential ingredient for washing hair was a paste made of the soap tree’s berry husk and a local version of gooseberry.
But the carefully crafted hair cleaning techniques of ancient times almost completely vanished by the Middle Ages.
Over time, very special materials have been discovered for cleaning hair, some of which are still used by many today as beauty products.

In our application, we asked our users if they apply any special cleaning method or product in their hair care routine?
59% of respondents do not use any special ingredients to care for their hair at all. 9%, on the other hand, prefer different oils (almond oil and olive oil).
