Do you snack while watching TV? – A survey by Pulzus

Snacking while watching TV only makes us hungrier, so we can quickly get hooked on the habit of eating at night. One study found that young people who ate while watching television consumed more calories for the rest of the day.

To feel satiety, we must be aware of what we eat, and we can best do so if we focus only on the meal we are taking, without dividing our attention. If we pay attention to something else, we simply do not perceive the full eating experience during feeding, and so we instinctively eat more.
Likewise, it is wrong to eat during work or other activities, since work and eating require different autonomic nervous system responses from our body.

If we don’t pay attention to the meal, we don’t enjoy it, we don’t feel the tastes, smell the scents, see the colors. In addition to all this, we do not chew enough during inattentive eating, which can also have its bad consequences.
In our application, we asked our users if they sometimes snack while watching television.
44% of the survey participants rarely eat, and 26% do not eat at all while watching TV.
