What about Styrofoam waste? – A survey by Pulzus

There are various packaging materials that should not just be thrown into the municipal waste bin. Such is the material referred to as Styrofoam or Nikecell, among others. But what exactly is Styrofoam? – It is nothing more than EPS (expanded or foamed polystyrene) packaging, and contrary to popular belief, EPS waste can be fully recycled, and it is not dangerous at all in terms of waste classification.
It cannot, however, be disposed of in the collecting bins set out for specific garbage or in public places. Additionally, not all garbage yards accept it, so it’s worth checking beforehand on their websites or by calling.

In our research, we now asked our users about Styrofoam. We were wondering how do they get rid of this special waste? Also, knowing that EPS can only be dropped off at certain waste yards, where will they throw it next time?

42% of users throw Styrofoam into plastic waste bins.
However, knowing the special recycling possibilities of Styrofoam and its waste classification, 39% of the respondents will take it to the nearest waste yard for professional processing.
