Men’s fascination with high heels may seem like a strange fad at first, but it is well known fact that the during the 15th century, high-heeled shoes were considered a symbol of masculinity, power and money. It was seen as a status symbol of wealth by noble Lords.
It was a pioneering style in the upper echelons of society, where men wearing high-heeled shoes meant competition, virility, and nobility. While the knights of old times have disappeared, high heels have certainly remained on the streets of Paris and London.
In the fashion industry and on the catwalks we can again see more feminine-looking shoes on the male models, which are the big favorites of the fashion-enthousiasts, no matter how extreme the color and height of the shoes are.
In our research, we asked people using the Pulzus app if they think it acceptable for men to wear high-heeled shoes.
According to 58% of the respondents, everyone should wear shoes that they feel comfortable in.
