Petrol shortages in Hungary may soon peak. According to Eszter Bujdosó, managing director of holtankoljunk.hu, with the beginning of the agricultural season and the harvest, the problem could reach its climax around July-August.
Regardless of size, agricultural vehicles and machinery can continue to refuel at the stations for the discounted price of 480 forints. In 2021, one and a half million hectares were harvested in Hungary, which accounts for 16 percent of the country’s territory.
The expert believes it is an economic fact that there will be a shortage of products with regulated prices after a while, and he believes that problems with refueling can occur anywhere in the country.
