It was revealed at the beginning of February that Citromail, a well-known domestic email service provider in the early 2000s, will transition to a paid model in the coming spring.
Fjordmail International, the Norwegian company that owns Citromail, has made the decision to charge for its mail service, which is now free to use. This was anticipated when, in the summer of 2022, Centrál Médiaport Zrt—sold Citromail to Fjordmail, a company that runs public webmail services and news websites.
By charging for it, it will no longer contain advertisements, the mobile application and user interface will be updated, and, according to the news, 10 GB of storage space will be offered for each mailbox. Not everyone likes the change, but the corporation claims that stable earnings are necessary for the service to be of a good caliber.
We asked users of the Pulzus research application if they would be ready to pay for an online mail system.
Only 7% of respondents claimed they would pay for mail service, and the remaining 86% did not respond.
