Stress: The sneaky epidemic – A survey by Pulzus

Stress is a sly disease that is unfortunately quite widespread. Worldwide, over 1.3 billion people have some kind of stress-related symptom, and the effects in Hungary are also quite significant. Between 1990 and 2019, the number of people affected by stress has doubled.

The rise in stress hormone levels lead to elevated risk of cardiovascular disease. Case numbers of cardiovascular problems are very high in Hungary, and part of the problem is that most people do not even know that they are sick.

Stroke, high blood pressure and heart attack are just a few side affects caused by continuous stress. If we just change our attitude in stressful situations, and try to be mindful and conscious about stress, we are immediately benefitting our health. Calm reaction to stressful situations, and a healthy lifestyle can help prevent many diseases.

We asked our users at Pulzus how often they feel stressed in their everyday life. 35% of the respondents sometimes, while 33% often feels anxious and stressful.
