Dangers of road traffic – Pulzus survey

According to official data published on the Institute of Transport Sciences’ website, there were fewer fatal road accidents in Hungary in 2020 compared to 2019. Although the number of fatal accidents has decreased, the data is still shocking.

According to police data, a total of 13,745 road accidents involving personal injuries occurred between 1st January and 31st December 2020, 17.3% less than a year earlier (16,627 accidents were registered in 2019).

The number of road fatalities has fallen due to the initiated restrictions of the pandemic. Data for the first three months of 2021 showed that fatal accidents fell from 84 to 80, with 4.8% fewer accidents on public roads than the previous year.

In these three months, 36% of accidents were due to speeding, while 27% were caused by violating priority rights.

We were curious about what road situations Pulzus users consider dangerous in everyday traffic.

18% of respondents consider intentionally hard braking, and 17% believe cutting off other motorists to be dangerous. 16% of research participants think changing direction without using the indicator to be the most hazardous.

What do you think is the most dangerous road situation?
