Is there a safe amount of alcohol to drink? – A survey by Pulzus

Even a very small amount of alcohol can be harmful.
There is no amount of alcohol that can be consumed without increasing the risk of disease, according to research done in 195 nations. Even one unit of alcohol per day increases the risk.

According to the report, Ukraine leads the top ten list of women who drink the most, with an average of more than four units per day. Hungary did not get close to the top.
But when it comes to men, we come in tenth overall.

The study also shows that they do not advocate total abstinence, but rather that no one should consume more than 14 units of alcohol per week. A tiny glass of wine, a can of beer, or a small quantity of short drink contains one unit, which is equivalent to ten grams of alcohol (approximately 100 ml of wine).

In our study, we examined users of the Pulzus application’s drinking habits.

39% of respondents said they only drink occasionally a little alcohol (e.g., 1-2 deciliters of wine or 1-2 pints of beer a few times a month). However, 30% of respondents never drink any alcohol.
