Due to all the unsolicited sexual content circulating on the internet nowadays, sex education is being re-evaluated. Parents need to consciously engage in some form of sexual education at an early age if they want their child not to be the victim of sexual abuse. After all, today preschoolers can easily access smartphones and computers, and this is not a safe interface at all. A child can encounter sexual content on these devices, which can cause permanent trauma.
The same way children are taught rules of traffic or the etiquette of eating in restaurants, sexuality is just another area of life where they need to be initially informed and guided.
As a parent, it’s quite challenging when you really have to answer specific sexuality-related questions. But in a good parent-child relationship, the child is not afraid to ask questions.
