Regular exercise, team sports, and developing physical stamina is an important part of childhood. There is no question that joyful sports experiences are a decisive, positive part of healthy physical and mental growth.
Children start doing sports primarily for the joy of movement, hanging out with friends, and for the sake of recreation. Success and struggle, as a motivational factor, only appears at a later stage.
In one study, it was shown that the experiences of physical education classes in school greatly influence the attitude towards physical activity in adulthood. Those who had mostly positive experiences from gym classes grow up to like and do sports as adults, while those who had mostly negative memories do not like to move, and do not really participate in sports activities.
