There are more than 3 billion smartphone users worldwide. In 2021 it could even reach 3.8 billion. Did you know that in the last ten minutes alone, 34% of the planet’s population probably checked on their phones? Due to the closures caused by the pandemic, the time spent in front of the screens of mobile phones, televisions, gaming devices, computers, laptops, smartwatches or any portable devices, and even smart home devices, has increased significantly. According to a study back from a few years ago, we tap, slide, and click on our devices 2,617 times a day. Average American citizens look at their cell phones an average of 96 times a day. Recently, an American company announced the Digital Detox Challenge, which encourages its employees to neglect technology and connect with nature rather than the Internet. We were wondering what the situation was like here in Hungary? 28% of those who took part in the Pulzus study look at their mobile phones 20 times a day. 27% of respondents look at their phones 21-40 times, while 16% check their phones around 41-60 times a day.
