How important is the preservation of forests? – A survey by Pulzus

The protracted conflict in Ukraine has caused energy costs to rise across Europe. The current energy crisis is forcing several countries to step back in the fight for environmental protection. However, to mitigate the climate crisis, governments must reduce their dependence on fossil fuels, and ultimately eliminate their use.

The global economy still relies heavily on fossil fuels today. They account for more than 80% of global energy. In the Congo, huge amounts of primeval forests are currently being auctioned off to oil companies. The demand for firewood is increasing in Hungary as well, which can mean the destruction of huge forest areas.

In our research, we tried to find out how important Pulzus users consider the protection of forests in the current situation. 76% of respondents consider protecting our environment very important.
