Is employee telecommunication monitoring ethical? – A survey by Pulzus

Deutsche Bank installs an app on its employees’ phones to monitor their customer communications.

The German bank requires some of its bankers to download a US mobile app on their company phones that allows them to track calls, text messages and WhatsApp conversations. In recent years, several companies have used this software, mainly because many of their investigations ended in employees having to be suspended for communicating with their customers through unauthorized channels, in many cases involving dubious transactions.

Although this form of surveillance is used only for company phones, several workers consider it unethical.
In our Pulzus survey, we asked what our users think about this form of monitoring?

50% of respondents believe that this may violate employee privacy and free communication.

Do you find it acceptable for employers to monitor company cell phone communications?
