Knitting and crocheting contribute to well-being – A survey by Pulzus

It used to be natural that women were able to knit, sew, crochet, but today few people are equipped with this knowledge. More and more young people are re-discovering this leisure activity, and it’s gaining popularity again. The activity of knitting, crocheting, embroidery or similar needlework has many beneficial effects.
Much like meditation, it stimulates the brain, delays dementia, provides a sense of well-being, raises dopamine and serotonin levels, and facilitates quality relaxation for the body.
According to scientists, if we provide our brain with adequate level of exercise, memory performance can be greatly affected in old age. Knitting and crocheting are especially good for the brain in old age.
In the Pulzus application, we asked the users whether they agree that needlework has beneficial effects.

51% of respondents do not do needlework, but believe that it has a beneficial effect.
